What types of devices are
supported by the SiteReacher system... ?
SiteReacher was developed to allow
data collection from devices with an RS232, RS485 or RS422 serial
port. The SiteReacher Remote Gateway contains firmware drivers
that allow it to communicate with specific devices. At present
the list of available drivers includes Modbus protocol and protocols
for Greenspan Technology PS2100 and 3000 series of
Environmental Sensors.
The PS2100 sensor is a logging depth
and temperature sensor and can be used in a variety of applications
such as bore-hole monitoring.
There is a range of 3000 sensors
available, including
| Model No. |
Parameters Monitored |
| PS3100 |
Pressure (water level), temperature,
battery |
| CTD3100 |
Conductivity, pressure, temperature,
battery |
| PH3000* |
pH, temperature, battery |
| TS3000 |
Turbidity, temperature, battery |
| DO3000 |
Dissolved oxygen, temperature, battery |
* Due for
release October 2008
If you have a device that you
would like to see supported by SiteReacher then please let us know
by email or telephone.
What is the data format and where is it stored... ?
Data from remote nodes is packed into binary format SMS
messages which are transmitted to the Base Station. This data
is unpacked and validated by the Base Station which then segments
the information into data records, alarm records and system
messages. These records and messages are stored in .csv (comma
separated volume) format in designated directories on an SD memory card.
This tabulated data can be viewed by
a button click and can be easily imported into applications such as
spreadsheets and graphing packages. The data stored on the SD
card can be read using a card reader which allows browsing the
directories and files using Windows Explorer.
Do I need an Internet connection to use SiteReacher ... ?
No - SiteReacher has been designed as a
network based system where no internet connection is required.
The Base Station is simply plugged in to your computer network (or
to your computer if you have no network). There is no messing
around with setting up IP addressing of the Gateways, or
installation of specialised software. All you need is a web
browser, such as Internet explorer, Netscape or FireFox.
Is SDI12 supported by
the Remote Gateway ... ?
The Remote Gateway has an SDI12
interface. At present drivers have not been released for any
specific devices. If you have an SDI12 sensor that you would
like to be supported by SiteReacher then please contact us.
